Hellas Sat carried out an experiment consisting in backhauling the connection between a 5G Core Network and a 5G gNB through Hellas Sat 3 / Inmarsat S EAN satellite. Successfully demonstrating the ability of being active part of the network in remote areas where traditional backhauling technologies are not suitable is a solution and otherwise would remain unconnected. Power management gets harder as communications performance increases. The technologies developed in the frame of HEATPACK project aim to enable higher and higher performances in onboard systems.
